This is a redo . . .

My name is Jonathan and I am 19 years old. My interests take me in a
few directions. As far as sports, I am not really conventional. I
prefer paintball and soccer as my primary sport interests. I don't
know of many other people that play paintball around here so talking
about it is a little hard. I'm not geeked out about it (yet) so I
don't really have all my favorite team rosters memorized. My first
experience with art came through a photo class at southwestern. I had
done a beginning b&w class and it sparked my taste. I like film but I
currently use digital media. I'm doing this class in hopes of putting
together a portfolio online, so I won't have to lug a hard-drive or my
computer around for others to see. I've only done a few things on my
own. I have a really basic knowledge of photoshop and want to improve
on that and get into my other adobe programs. I hope to get a better
knowledge of graphic design and other digital media. I currently have
a small business and hope to see it grow. If you'd like to see the

Last Day!

So today I had my last day of seasonal work at the airport. In case you didn't know there is this intern type program that the SAN authority is heading up allowing people who know people within the airport the chance to work there. Case and point. Oligarchy is wierd.

I won't be seeing any of my former employees for a long time. Dissapointing I guess . . . It depends on who it is. I had my run-ins with some of the other interns at the airport and they weren't all very cheery about it. I learned a few things about working in a "connection" related job. 1) Don't let people get on your nerves. They get big headed about it. 2) Keep a good attitude about everything. It keeps your enemies guessing. *cough cough* co-workers *cough* 3) Revenge is sweet but not satisfying. Story behind this one? Alright. One of the co-workers that I know takes their breaks tooooooo long. Need more help? They fall asleep while the rest of us work hard helping out the rush at the airline checkpoints. This same employee is well known by others within the airport for doing just that, taking naps and getting kicked out of checkpoints for not working properly. There are other reasons behind this employee's infamy. Right now we won't get into them. First we're going to name this employee, since it's a guy we'll call him Keef (yes that's how we'll pronounce it). Anyhow, Keef was napping one day with two other employees(unnamed) while I was assisting TSA at the Southwest checkpoint. The supervisor asked me where they were and I gave the usual "Dunno," answer. So the supervisor transferred me to terminal 2, checkpoint 5 to assist with an even larger line-up problem. On my way out of Southwest I noticed Keef and another employee face down in a cafe chasing sheep (yes sleeping). Out of anger I took a pic on my phone of them napping and resumed my march to checkpoint 5 to help out two other interns already there working hard. On my break I went into the food court area outside of my current checkpoint and was greeted by two Authority representatives. They congradulated and thanked me on my assistance to the big rush at checkpoint 5. I don't know how it happened but I brought up the fact that I snapped a picture of the sleeping employees. They looked surprised and really wanted to see it. I sent it to one of the Authority reps and he saved it on his phone saying that our boss needed to see it. I walked away a little boastful and somewhat confused. I didn't know how the boss would handle two of our other interns asleep on the job.

*Fast forward to today.* I found out that some of the other interns got wind of the sleeping employee pic. Word had spread that the boss got the picture from a security camera and that he had spoken with them about the incident. Inside I was thankful that it spread the way it did. My lesson there was that I can trust my higher-ups with my anonymity. Since it was the last day I trusted two of my intern friends the true story behind the "security camera" pic. I let them know that the camera was a mobile one. Me. I even pointed out that none of the security cameras had the proper angle to even spot them in the cafe (note to self: remind security operations to take care of a Southwesst blindspot in the system. end.). So my last day of work ended with some laughs. I'm now home and wondering why I haven't eaten dinner yet. Can't . . . put my finger on it . . . well this has been a quick tour through my mind. Hope to see you again next time.

out.
